What the Agasi File Said Today

05.11.26

Two months before his arrest, Agasi was lining up the incoming US ambassador with a media owner, a television interview and the head of SHISH, and the man he was planning it with is saved in his phone under the name of Vučić’s strategist.

Three items from Report Tv, carried by Shqiptarja.com on the afternoon of 5 November, draw on SPAK’s investigation file in the Ergys Agasi case: the messages to two Israeli nationals that the prosecution used to argue Vlora Hyseni’s flight risk, the photographs a police laboratory chief is suspected of sending Agasi, and the head waiter who drove him around Durrës while he was on the run.

The two Israelis and the flight-risk argument

The Special Prosecution suspects that Agasi had placed an international network at the service of the criminal group it says he led. Sources told Report Tv that his communications with two Israeli nationals were used by SPAK to argue that the former SHISH director, Vlora Hyseni, would be a flight risk if left free rather than under the house arrest now in force.

According to the same sources, Agasi told both men about his closeness to Hyseni. On 22 August he wrote to an Israeli national saved in his phone as “Shalev Israel”: “The head of the secret service is a close friend of mine” (“E kam shoqe të ngushtë shefen e shërbimit sekret”).

On 6 August, on the Signal application, he wrote to an Israeli saved in his phone as Srulik Einhorn Koces: “We are lucky that the Americans themselves have caught him here and know about his behavior and something else, the director of the secret service will meet with him herself and she will talk about this, bringing the” proof, in Shqiptarja’s Albanian rendering, that the prosecutor acted for other interests (“duke i sjellë prova që prokurori e ka bërë këtë për interesa të tjera”).

The name under which the second contact is saved is that of Srulik Einhorn, also Yisrael Einhorn, the Israeli political strategist who ran five of Benjamin Netanyahu’s election campaigns and has advised Serbian president Aleksandar Vučić since about 2020. He has lived in Belgrade since 2024, where he runs the consultancy Insight Partners, and is wanted in Israel, where police declared him a fugitive in an investigation into the leaking of classified material. BIRN and Haaretz reported in 2025 that his work for Vučić included facilitating Serbian arms exports to Israel. This publication has not established that the Israeli number in Agasi’s phone is his, and neither Report Tv nor SPAK has said so. If it is, the man to whom a fugitive from SPAK was describing the head of Albania’s intelligence service and her planned approach to the American ambassador works for the president of Serbia.

Working the ambassador

The published text does not say who “him” is. Messages from the same thread, seen by this publication, do, and they show that the message of 6 August was the end of a preparation that began in June.

On 25 June, two months before his arrest and while he was a fugitive, Agasi sent the contact the State Department page on Eric Wendt, then the nominee for US ambassador to Tirana. He had read it for what it could offer: “this man has been in Jerusalem for 2 years 2017-2019”, he wrote, then “If you have any contact or information pls tell me”, then “He is coming here in Tirana as USA ambassador”. Wendt served in Jerusalem as the United States Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority from November 2017 to October 2019. The Israeli contact was being asked for an Israeli way in.

On 5 August the contact noted that the Senate had not yet confirmed; Agasi asked how many weeks it would take. On the morning of 6 August the contact wrote that he had been confirmed the day before. Agasi answered within the hour: “It’s a good news”, “Next week he will be in Tirana”.

Then he laid out the plan. The first channel was a media owner: “My most trusted person who we can get to meet with the ambassador is [name withheld] (the owner of [a television channel]), can also talk about my situation.” The contact replied “I’ll work on it”. The inducement came next: the ambassador should give his first interview to her channel, “to have a good relationship” with it, and she, “being more private”, could speak about his case.

At 09:18 the contact asked what the meeting was for: “Can you please tell me what exactly we need from the ambassador?” Agasi’s answer was the prosecutor: he “has taken my name and is trying to find a crime to convict me of, meanwhile he has been”, and the message continues off the screen. Five minutes later came the message Report Tv published, and “him” is the same man: the Americans “have caught him here and know about his behavior”, and “the director of the secret service will meet with him herself and she will talk about this, bringing the” proof, in Shqiptarja’s Albanian rendering, that the prosecutor acted for other interests. The “him” the prosecution left unexplained is the SPAK prosecutor on Agasi’s case. The man she was to meet is the ambassador, the subject of the thread since June. The second channel was the head of the State Intelligence Service, and what she was to carry to the American ambassador was Agasi’s case against the man investigating him.

The contact weighed the two: “the director of the secret service is a good way to present the matter (better than media owner i think) – but i will work for the meeting”.

A fugitive from SPAK, in his own words, was choosing who would sit in front of the incoming American ambassador and what they would tell him. The media owner is named in the thread only by Agasi, nothing in the messages shows her knowledge of the plan, and this publication withholds her name for that reason. Whether the SHISH director knew what Agasi was writing about her, and whether either meeting took place, the messages do not show. They are in English and are quoted as written; this publication has seen them as screens from a telephone extraction, not the SPAK file.

For the prosecution, the report says, this network could have given Hyseni the means to flee or to hide. Shqiptarja marked the item as still being updated and closed it with the standard note that every person is presumed innocent until found guilty by a final court decision.

The laboratory chief and the Land Rover

Report Tv says it obtained new data from SPAK’s investigation into Agasi, who, in its account, was helped while on the run by the former SHISH director, by Fatjon Kalluçi, head of the laboratory sector of the Scientific Police, and by the waiter Embro Sulejmani. The item’s headline describes Kalluçi as head of the Criminal Police; the body of the text gives the laboratory post.

In August, before Agasi’s arrest, Kalluçi is suspected of having sent him three photographs of the forensic examination of his Land Rover Defender, seized during the searches at Equos Resort, where SPAK found nine pages of secret SHISH documents.

Kalluçi, who is charged with disclosing state secrets, informed Agasi that the evidence had arrived at the laboratory packaged for DNA examination. Agasi wanted to know when the car had been searched and what documentation had been kept on the items found inside it.

Kalluçi’s reply, as published: “I don’t know, brother, what to tell you, because the inspection was not done at our place. They did it themselves” (“Nuk e di, vlla, çfarë të them, se këqyrja nuk është bërë tek ne. E kanë bërë vetë ata”). He explained that the search of the car had been carried out by the investigators and that the laboratory had received only the evidence for examination. He said he would also request the inspection record (procesverbali i këqyrjes) in order to send it to Agasi.

The head waiter in Durrës

Sulejmani worked as head waiter at a venue near the government residence in Durrës. According to Report Tv, he moved Agasi by car during the period Agasi was on the run. A source told the station that a few days before the arrest, Sulejmani was coordinating with Agasi his location, his timing and the manner of his movements in Durrës.

He is also suspected of watching the entries and exits of the Government Villas area in Durrës, where Agasi owns a villa. The area is guarded by the Republican Guard (Garda e Republikës). According to the investigators, the communications between the two show that the help given to Agasi was organised and continuous.

In a conversation a few hours after Agasi’s arrest, sources say, Sulejmani expressed relief that he had not been caught together with him. For the investigators, that amounts to an indirect admission that he transported Agasi during the flight, and on that basis he has been charged with supporting the perpetrator of a crime (përkrahje e autorit të krimit).

Where the case stands

On 4 November the Appeal chamber of the Special Court (GJKKO) left Hyseni under house arrest, on the charges of helping Agasi and giving him state secrets. The day before, the same chamber had postponed her hearing, released Sulejmani from custody with an obligation to report, and rejected Kalluçi’s request for release. Hyseni’s first appeal hearing, on 2 November, had been postponed because the prosecutors of the case did not appear.

This publication has not seen the SPAK file. Everything above is as reported by Report Tv and carried by Shqiptarja.com on 5 November 2026, in items timed 15:38, 15:54 and 16:03 (updated 16:35), except where messages seen by this publication are identified as such.
